QuitSure alternatives: matched to what you wanted from it

A program is not a tracker. Here is what to reach for depending on which one you need.

The disclosure, before anything else

I build a different quit smoking app, The Long View, and this site exists to support it. So take this page as one developer writing about another developer's product, with the incentive stated openly. Everything about QuitSure here comes from its App Store listing (read 18 October 2026) and from a published study. Where something could not be verified, I left it out.

What QuitSure is

QuitSure, published by Rapidkart Online Private Limited, is a program more than a tracker. Its listing describes 6-day and 6-week programs, about an hour a day over six days, with daily reading, video and audio, short mental exercises, a coach, a community and a tracker. It says you can keep smoking during the program and quit when you are ready. The listing names cognitive behavioral therapy and related approaches. The App Store shows 4.8 from 1,573 ratings (October 2026).

That shape suits some people well. If you want to be told what to do each day for a week, rather than to log numbers, it is built for you, and no page should talk you out of it.

What to check before you rely on it

Its listing makes strong claims about the method. They are the company's own, and they are worth reading as marketing until you have seen independent evidence.

There is one published study: Goldgof, Mishra and Bajaj, "Efficacy of the QuitSure App for Smoking Cessation in Adult Smokers: Cross-Sectional Web Survey," JMIR Human Factors, 2024. Of 1,286 users who had completed the program more than 30 days earlier, 80.1% reported at least 30 days of abstinence afterward. The limits: only completers were surveyed, answers were self-reported, there was no comparison group, and two of the three authors work for QuitSure. It supports "worth trying." It does not support a promise.

Where to go, by what you wanted

  • You wanted a counter, not a course. Smoke Free. Its listing says the core app is free to use and free of ads, with statistics on time quit, money saved and cigarettes not smoked, and a craving log. Pro adds daily missions and an AI Quit Coach.
  • You wanted a free, public option. quitSTART, from the US National Cancer Institute. The quitSTART page goes through it.
  • It was a vape you were quitting. Quit Vaping and Escape the Vape. The comparison sets them side by side.
  • You wanted to see what quitting is worth, over years. The Long View, next.

Where The Long View fits, stated as disclosure

Mine. It is a tracker with one estimate at its center: what smoking has likely cost you in years of life, and how much of that comes back the longer you stay smoke-free, shown next to a photo of your own reason. It counts cigarettes, and pouches and vape pods as counts only. It also has a daily check-in, a craving button (a 3-minute breathing screen with your reason photo), health milestones, a Quit plan that walks down to zero over days, weeks or months, widgets and App lock. If you are after a structured course, QuitSure is closer to that than this is.

You can run the math without installing anything on the quit smoking calculator, and every figure it uses is on the methodology page. See Premium for plans, and download for every platform.

Common questions

Is QuitSure free?

It is listed as free to download on the App Store. Check the listing for what is included, because programs and subscriptions inside the app change.

Is there evidence that QuitSure works?

There is one published survey, in JMIR Human Factors in 2024. It covered users who completed the program, relied on self-report, had no comparison group, and two of its three authors work for QuitSure. 80.1% of the 1,286 respondents who had finished more than 30 days earlier reported at least 30 days of abstinence. Treat it as a start.

What is a good alternative to QuitSure?

It depends on what you wanted. For a counter with the most statistics, Smoke Free. For a government-backed free option, quitSTART from the US National Cancer Institute. For vaping, Quit Vaping or Escape the Vape. For years and money won back next to your own reason photo, The Long View.
