Why this app exists
Smoking is usually described with warnings. The Long View tries something more concrete: turn the effect of smoking, and of quitting, into one running number built from population data and published research, next to a photo of the reason it matters to you. The arithmetic behind that number is not hidden. It is laid out in full, sources included, on the methodology page.
